Emily Huckle Cup (Women’s) Rules
2 Rinks of 4’s Club Competition
(Fours: 2 woods 18 ends)
- Clubs may enter 1 or more teams, in Huckle cup.
- Where clubs have more than 1 team in this competition,players MUST be registered to the Competition Secretary 7 days in advance of their first games and the result cards from the early rounds are to be handed over to the Umpire on the Finals day.
- No player shall play in more than one of the sides entered.
- The competition will be held on a knockout basis.
- Each team shall be represented by 8 players (2 rinks), 1 Rink to play at home and the other rink away, all to play on the same day in all rounds up to the Final.
- The Final shall be played on a green and date fixed by the Executive Committee. All players in the final are to have their own club stickers on their woods or stickers will be supplied.
- The dates for each round shall be strictly adhered to (see competitions rules). Games will be played on Wednesdays.
- It is unnecessary to have the same players throughout.
- One extra end shall be played on one rink only, on the green of the challenger, i.e. the first drawn in the tie in accordance with the County Web page. The shots scored in this end shall only count in the event of a tie at 18 ends.
- A delegated person (non-playing) may be appointed at both venues, they shall liaise with each other and their opposite person, on ends 5; 10; 15; and last end.
- If a match is abandoned owing to exceptional weather conditions, bad light, or any other valid reason; should all rinks have completed 11 ends, then the aggregate score at 11 ends shall stand as the result. If tied at 11 ends’, then the nominated rink that must play an extra end before play is suspended. If all rinks have not completed 11 ends, then those rinks will within 5 days resume their match with the scores standing, as they were when the game was stopped. An end started but not completed shall be declared void. The resumed games will be on the same green although the rink may be changed, and one substitute will be allowed in each rink, as long as transferring between rinks is not involved. The position of the substitute will be as described in the current Laws of the Sport of Bowls as adopted by Bowls England. The resumed games will be played to 15 or 11 ends depending on the point reached by any rinks not resuming.
- If the game is canceled for inclement weather, it must be played in the next 5 days and notified to the competition recorder.
- The result should also be telephoned to the competition recorder that evening, but not after 10pm or on the web page.
- For the Final and where both games are played on the same green, the rink on which an extra end shall be played in the event of a tie shall be decided by the Umpire or Official in charge by drawing a number from within the range of rink numbers as played on.
